Global Peace Chain Zambia Strengthens Community Partnerships Through Participation in Night of Worshippers

As part of its commitment to advancing peace through inclusive community engagement, Global Peace Chain Zambia recently participated in the Night of Worshippers hosted by Gospel Impact Liberty Church in Lusaka. The event brought together faith leaders, worshippers and community members in a powerful gathering dedicated to worship, prayer, unity and the promotion of peace through faith.

Representing Global Peace Chain Zambia were Country Director Maxwell Banda and the Head of Social Media, who attended the event in an official capacity. Their participation reflected the organization’s recognition of faith-based institutions as key partners in promoting social cohesion, moral leadership and sustainable peacebuilding within communities.

Faith communities continue to play a vital role in Zambian society, serving as trusted platforms for community engagement, social transformation and values-based leadership. Through this engagement, Global Peace Chain Zambia reaffirmed its belief that lasting peace is strengthened when diverse sectors of society work together toward common goals.

The Night of Worshippers provided a meaningful space for reflection, spiritual growth and collective hope. Attendees joined in worship and prayer while celebrating the role that faith can play in fostering unity and inspiring positive change within society.

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of an institutional donation by Country Director Maxwell Banda on behalf of Global Peace Chain Zambia. The donation served as a symbol of solidarity and appreciation for the church’s ongoing contributions to community development, spiritual empowerment and the promotion of peace-centred values in Lusaka.

Addressing the gathering, Maxwell Banda emphasized the importance of collaboration between peacebuilding organizations and faith communities.

“Faith communities are essential partners in advancing peace, unity, and sustainable social transformation. It was a privilege to participate in this remarkable Night of Worshippers and support the church’s continued service to society.”

The event also offered an opportunity to strengthen relationships with community stakeholders while highlighting the role of faith-based initiatives in creating positive social impact. Through active participation and engagement, Global Peace Chain Zambia further expanded its presence within Lusaka’s faith community ecosystem and reinforced its commitment to building bridges across different sectors of society.

The organization’s Head of Social Media documented key moments from the event, generating content that showcases how faith-centred initiatives contribute to peacebuilding, youth empowerment and community development. This effort aligns with GPC Zambia’s broader communication strategy of amplifying stories that inspire hope, unity and positive action.

Participation in the Night of Worshippers directly supports several dimensions of the Global Peace Chain mandate, including community empowerment, youth development, leadership formation and peacebuilding through diverse partnerships. The engagement demonstrated how faith institutions can serve as valuable allies in advancing shared goals of social harmony and sustainable development.

Among the key outcomes of the event were the establishment of a positive institutional relationship between Global Peace Chain Zambia and Gospel Impact Liberty Church, increased visibility for GPC Zambia within faith-based networks and the strengthening of cross-sector partnerships that contribute to community peace initiatives.

Looking ahead, Global Peace Chain Zambia recognizes the growing importance of structured collaboration with faith communities and recommends the exploration of a dedicated Faith and Peace Partnership Programme. Such an initiative would provide a framework for sustained engagement with faith-based organizations and further strengthen the role of community partnerships in promoting peace and social transformation.

Through engagements like the Night of Worshippers, Global Peace Chain Zambia continues to demonstrate that peacebuilding extends beyond traditional spaces and thrives when communities, institutions and faith leaders unite around shared values of service, compassion and collective progress.
