My name is Yan, I study Journalism at the University of Havana and I am a philanthropic by vocation. I love nature, to live new experiences and feel that I help people, that is why I have undertaken several projects that allow me to enjoy all of that at the same time. I represent Cuba before various international organizations that allow me to acquire new experiences and replicate them in my country with the youth of my country: Red Botín de Servidores Públicos, Empoderando Juventudes and the Ibero-American Network of Young Leaders. I am the Creative Director and Manager of Mace’s, an entertainment magazine that supports new Cuban ventures and the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2020 I founded the Committee Empowering Youth in Havana, whose mission is to get more young people to join and mobilize to achieve the present and the future we want. That same year, the Cuban Government awarded me the “Youth for Life” recognition for my contribution in the fight against Covid-19 in isolation centers for infected people. In 2019 I was the only young Cuban selected to participate in the Program for the Strengthening of the Public Function in Latin America, developed in the United States, Spain and Colombia, and which aims to promote the development of Latin America through a network of public servants . I want to contribute to a better world and that is possible, you just have to have the courage to do it, as well as the joy and enthusiasm of doing it with everyone and for the good of all.
