I am a bachelor’s degree student in Political Science and International Relations and I am 22 years old. After graduating from a scientific high school I chose this path because I believe it is necessary to take concrete action to help make the world a fairer place.
Last year i participated in an Erasmus exchange in Nottingham (UK) for 6 months. This taught me to adapt to a different context and to get to know more cultures closely.
During one of my courses I did an essay on the evolution of the memory of the Holocaust and its heritage today. I noted how this catastrophic event causes so much sensation, but today’s society is still permeated by racism, anti-Semitism and unjustified hatred , not only in the social stratum but also and starting from the political partied.
Intolerance and hatred are often caused by ignorance, hence the need for each individual to be informed and aware.
After completing my Bachelor’s degree I am planning on continuing in the field of international justice and do a couple of masters’ degrees in International crimes, conflict and criminology and International development. Discovering something new through various challenges is something I constantly seek. Likewise, my values are of great importance to me. I describe myself as an intersectional feminist and I care especially about human rights, animal welfare (I am a vegetarian and a digital activist for Animal Equality Italia) and environment protection.
In daily life I carry out the activity of educator in the Catholic action. My role is to work with my peers to organize meetings for a group of teenagers (14-17 years old) with discussions and activities concerning personal growth, inner analysis and current events. This volunteer activity has enriched me as a person, especially thanks to the continuous exchange of ideas and profound sharing, both with the kids and with other educators and has made me a more aware and open-minded person.
I am also passionate about writing, I attended a creative writing course and participated in a small competition during high school. I reserve the chance to work in the field of international journalism one day, even if I don’t just want to tell the stories, I would also like to act closely.
At the moment I’ve just started a WordPress blog, which is still in its initial phase, called The Wide Horizon. There are currently few articles. The purpose of the blog is precisely to shed light on some problems related to themes or events to spread awareness, hoping to reach a brighter future.
Recently I collaborated virtually with a non-profit organization in Rome that deals with saving stray cats, helping it with fundraising and communication for the search for aid and sponsors.
Just today I started a second similar activity, this time with another NGO (ACTLAB), born to reach SDGs in Cameroon, by making strong creative economies towards local communities and business ecosystems.
