Sarah Zubair has done her Masters in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Admiration (IBA) Karachi with excellent standing. Currently, she is working as Assistant Manager Programs at Society for International Education. She is a firm advocate of peace and counter violence and extremism, hence, as her profile at SIE, she has extensively worked on projects that work in the eradication of terrorism and violence from different communities.
Prior to her work with SIE she was a Fellow at Teach For Pakistan and has also interned in a six week Global Village for Future Leaders by Lehigh University, Pennsylvania on 100% scholarship. She also participated in the Youth Exchange and Study Program in the year 2005-06 and spent a year studying in American High School.
Sarah committed herself to work for under-resourced communities. Her major accomplishments in this area include: teaching English in summer camps set up for low-income students, teachers training for professional development, introducing sports in schools where extracurricular activities don’t exist, working on strengthening the interfaith understanding, building clean water wells in high needs areas, setting up medical camps in rural areas to cater to contextual health issues, working to better serve the needs of low-income students with special needs, fund-raising to support the education of secondary school-aged girls, managing micro-financing projects related to the well-being of women in rural areas, conducting literacy programs for household women, and working with homeless women to provide them with basic and long term change agents.
Furthermore, during the course of her studies, Sarah’s research papers were selected in international journals along with her achievements in several national Business plan competitions. Sarah continues her work in the development sector as a result of her very clear personal theory of change that affirms the necessity of an educated and empowered youth in Pakistan. She is a firm advocate of education and youth empowerment where she believes all segments of the country across all socio-economic standpoints and sectors, must get equal educational opportunities to build a prosperous nation.
