RIDA ABDELWAHID YOUSIF IBRAHIM

Sudan

I am Rida Abdelwahid, a Sudanese-ambitious pharmacist who recently discovered herself. I would describe my character as a person who loves to travel through other people’s minds to explore and analyze their thoughts and feelings in order to understand their behavior in different situations and circumstances. I enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, so it will help to get to know each other better.
I have been open to discuss rape issues since my adolescence, so in 2017 I decided to shed light on this neglected problem in Sudanese society by writing a story about a little girl who had been raped. The story went viral, with thousands of reactions. It was republished by several Facebook activists. This encouraged me to start up a foundation dedicated to those victims, but due to many obstacles, the foundation did not last long.
From February to April 2018, I joined the British Council’s Saturday Club in order to enhance my experience of dealing with people by talking about some social issues and ways of resolving them.
In 2019, during the pandemic, I cooperated in making one thousand free hand sanitizers and helped in distributing them to poor neighborhoods, and I resolved to raise awareness about the coronavirus and the importance of quarntine. Later, in September 2020, I played a huge role in Patient Safety Day by educating the public about the misuse of antibitics and how they have been associated with bacterial resistance.
After receiving my baclero degree in June 2021 and completing a four-month training program, I immediately began working a full-time job at a private community pharmacy, a part-time job in the government sector, and I am also volunteering at a non-profit organization, on top of which I am writing a new story about sexual abuse.
