Rebecca Baranya Elia Jibi, a Young Passionate lady from South Sudan, focused expressly in the private sector and Non-Governmental Organization services. A Finance and Administration Assistant at Advance South Sudan a Nation Non-Governmental Organization that promotes Responsible Leadership and Democratic Governance, and Behavior Change Communication for peace and conflict resolution by promoting cultural values and practices.
Her vision is Responsible Leadership and Democratic Governance to Advance the SDGs.
She Promotes Girls and Women Empowerment, and Youth Empowerment. Her core values are Integrity, Team work, Professionalism, commitment and respect to diversity.
Participated in the Better World for a Better Understanding 2019 BUBW International Conference -Uganda (Leadership Intellectual and Interfaith Conference) which was organized by the Civilizations Exchanges and Coorporation Foundation CECF.
Also participated as an online participant in the opening panel (from Digital to Awareness) in the European Digital Youth Summit EDYS2018 in Brasov Romania.
Rebecca is a Bachelor’s Degree Holder in Economics and Management from Uganda Christian University, and a credential certificate in Human Resources from the Open 2 Study University (online course) in Australia, attended several Trainings with the UNFPA, International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) on issues that deal with Gender mainstreaming, Financial Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.
She looks forward promoting the recognition of culture as vital for human development that responds to national identity and diversity. She believe that the youth are the future custodians of heritage and are key to upholding and preserving many positive aspects of the culture. This is, however, a huge task since many youth are hesitant about appreciating culture, mainly because Cultural content is often not packaged in an appealing or sophisticated manner. Thus, creativity and persuasion are basic in triggering the youth’s interest in cultural heritage.
