Palestine

Would you ever believe seeing Palestinian and Israeli setting at a table for a calm discussion? September 2020, I have officially started my first year of studying at an international school, during that day for the first time, I have been exposed to more than 5 minutes of interaction with Israeli Jews, felt weird confused excited at the same time since it’s not a common interaction between these two groups. I’m a kind of person who’s really sensitive about the Palestinian struggle, so it’s hard for me to consider someone as my best friend when he has very contradicting views and especially the views that are connected to the suffering of the Palestinian people. However, being exposed to these kinds of discussions enabled me to listen to the others although we have a very different perspectives, and that skill will benefit me at this summit, particularly where we meet people from different background which may have different views. Adding to that, I have received a certificate for participating in the USIDHR youth human rights summit that was held in Turkey, I received training sessions and discussed case studies that will be applied in real life, and also I have participated in the Middle Eastern Asian panel which allowed me to share my view and perspective more about my community in front of the audiences. I have been passionate about human rights since my childhood, I love fighting for people’s rights, I think that passion grew inside me because my people don’t have their full basic human rights unfortunately, so USIDHR was a huge step for me that allowed me to share the story of my people with being the youngest delegate in the summit.
