I am Nietzsche Merlin Nestor, a determined Haitian. I have a degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA), and I am also a certified accountant from Monsenhor Guilherme State College. I migrated to Brazil in search of better academic and professional opportunities, leaving my family in Haiti.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in an exchange program at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, where I improved my Spanish skills. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Calabria, and I also completed a semester-long exchange program at the University Institute of Lisbon.
In addition to my studies, I contributed to a research project on Haitian dictatorships in the 20th century. The goal was to disseminate the history of Haiti to the Brazilian audience and raise awareness about Haitian immigrants in Brazil. My area of interest focuses on Haiti and the Dominican Republic, exploring the historical and modern conflicts that separate these two Caribbean countries. I am dedicated to continuous learning and expanding my cultural horizons. My journey reflects my determination to seek knowledge, develop academic and human skills, and contribute to the understanding and cooperation among different cultures.
