Mukundwa Deborah believes that it is everyone’s right despite their age, sex orientation, color, status, race among many others to benefit from an effective remedy and to be protected in the event of violation of those rights. As an INFJ( Intorvert-intuitive-feeling-judging) personality traits, Deborah is idealistic and passionate to make the world a better and safe place for everyone. During her highschool, she was the school headgirl at Fawe girls’ school working with the school administration to ensure that the students needs are met, she was the founder of “Yes I can” club, that encouraged students to persue their dreams, stand for what they believe in, as well as enroll in those sectors that were believed to be only for men, she was later awarded as the best impactful student 2019, after her graduation her work got recognized and was awarded a full funded Mastercard foundation scholarship to continue her eduction, Now a sophomore student at the African leadership university pursuing an integrated four years degree in Global challenge with a focus on Governance. Having been raised in a low income family with her seven siblings she has experienced gender inequality as well as culture norms that persisted in her community and that led to women violence most of the time, she was therefore nomitated as a delegate to the International Model united nation conference 2020 where she represented Rwanda, and presented research, insights and proposed solutions on how to end gender based violence to the United Nation’s committee. Moreover, she is one among the teams to win the McArthur Degeneres grant for start-up ventures in 2022, she is now the co-founder of the Power circle a community-based organization that is actively dealing with food waste and working to ensure food security, women empowerment, and the well being to her community.
