Hello, my name is Mihal Mizrahi, I am a 16 year old Venezuelan girl who is currently studying in Israel, since a pretty small age I´ve been interested in politics, coming from a country where political instability rules and because of which I was forced to leave my homeland, marked by death, hunger and pain it seemed obvious for me that I had to do something about it, I moved to Israel last year, born as a jew I had always lived in a bubble but I was suddenly introduced to a program called debate for peace, in which I was introduced to palestinians, it was something new and crazy for me to even have contact with someone that I was taught to hate, the program works in peace building between Israelis and Palestinians through debating, negotiating and thanks to that you get to the point where you become friends with the person from the other side, you get to know the other side of the story and to connect with it, it is an experience that made me grow to realize we, the youth, are able to change the course of the hate, we are taught to hate, but we can teach the future generations to love, we can teach them that our differences should only get us closer instead of separating us, that is why I joined Global Peace Chain, because I believe we are the key to our future, and if we don´t start doing something then who will?
