My name is Melchiade Nininahazwe, I am a human dignity advocate, a climate action proponent, a peacebuilding activist and social change-maker from Burundi.
Member of the Yowli BURUNDI (Young Women’s Knowledge and Leadership Institute), Burundi Chapter Coordinator WYA (World Youth Alliance). I am setting up the implementation of FEMM (Fertility Education and Medical Management), a WYA programme that educates young women in relation to their bodies and reproductive health. I am an active member of Burundi section in Globethics, a global platform for ethics, which covers many aspects of ethical life by implementing ethical standards for institutions, training and coaching teachers, especially in higher education. I am an effective member of the Cophibu (Collège des Philosophes du Burundi), a local association for people who strive to think critically on social, cultural, political, economic and religious patterns of life in Burundi and beyond.
I am initiating the QUEDA project (Quality Education for All), an educational project that envisions the eradication of illiteracy in Burundi. It is still at inception though. I belong to different grassroots clubs and movements campaigning for the respect of human rights, raising awareness about AIDS and HIV; and advocating for a responsible use of our natural resources. (Climate Action Group).
Fully bilingual (English-French), I have published a few articles related to the betterment of human predicament, organ transplantation in an African perspective and a religious glance at our human condition.
In short, my life, aspirations and convictions strive for a holistic human growth and an integral human development in steady families, peaceful societies and health-friendly spaces.
