My name is Mehvash. I was born in Norwich and studied International Development with Politics at the University of East Anglia. I’ve had the privilege of living in three countries – UAE, UK and Bosnia and Herzegovina – which has given me three valuable experiences. This includes celebrating multiculturalism (UAE), appreciating the evolution of identity (UK) and building grassroots understanding of peace and conflict (Bosnia) which have all shaped me into the global citizen of today. I’m a pacifist and a visionary. I genuinely believe that the world can be a more peaceful and harmonious place by initially focusing on peace closer to home. I believe if we can learn to be emphatic with ourselves and be receptive to new ideas, we then have the capacity to be empathetic with others and foster cross-cultural and cross-community relations through dialogue.
