My name is Maria Harutyunyan, and I’m the project manager and the head of the Department of External Relations in “Youth Opportunities Club” NGO. Currently, I’m studying my 4th year in the faculty of American and British studies at the Yerevan state university of Languages and Social Sciences after V. Brusov. I’ve been volunteering for about four years, and it helped me a lot of enhancing several skills as well as understand the importance of awareness, communication, and help. Having my first volunteering experience in the Career Center of my university, I worked with Evs volunteers mentoring and helping them in organizational bases as well as to get easily orientated. Later, on I’ve been volunteering in several NGOs, where I’ve manifested my interest and empathy to help young people who are lack of awareness and opportunities. My current NGO focuses on informal methods of education as well as tackles the lack of awareness and practice that are not provided in many educational institutions. Our mission is to help young people do their first steps in the professional world gaining elementary practical knowledge that each person should know before applying for a job or Erasmus+ projects. I’ve recently written my first project about Discrimination in the field of formal education as I highlight the idea of equal opportunities that should first of all start from the educational institutions.
