Ms. Lina Ghassan Younis currently serves as Assistant Shelter Officer at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She is responsible for the whole of the Shelter Sector at UNHCR Jordan and the sector’s gender, age& disability. She has been involved in the development and implementation of strategic planning for sustainable housing and settlements for refugees in areas affected by climate change. And a keynote speaker, the latest being the MENA forum. Before this experience, she had over 12 years of professional international experience working in the design and construction of multiple projects.
Ms. Younis holds a BSc. in Architectural Engineering from Jordan and an MSc. in Global Urban Health from Germany. Authored “Housing structure including the surrounding environment as a risk factor for visceral leishmaniasis transmission in Nepal” and co-authored “The role of Nepalese female community volunteers for visceral leishmaniasis detection& surveillance” under WHO-TDR.
