“My name is Leah Fouchong and I am from the beautiful twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. I am educator and environmental activist who is passionate about Geography, environmental and humanitarian work. I’m the founder of an environmental/ social enterprise by the name of Coexistence Expeditions/ Changemakers for the Environment. Coexistence Expeditions is an environmental enterprise that offers educational, guided, fun and safe nature & culture tours, outdoor expeditions and adventure activities that will empower citizens to improve their health and wellness , fitness and live sustainably with the environment. Changemakers for the Environment recruit members from Coexistence expeditions tours to create changemakers and advocates that helps educate , empower and restore our environment. This is in an effort for our society to gain a deeper appreciation and love for our environment to protect it for future generations.

I was also a scholarship recipient of the Caribbean- Pacific Island Mobility Scheme (CARPIMS) Project where I completed a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development for the Caribbean, awarded by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine in collaboration with the University of Belize, University of Guyana and Suriname. My passion and drive has also provided me with the opportunity to participate in several international conferences and workshops such as Conference of Youth on Climate change, Peru 2014, Cherie Blaire Mentoring Women in Business Programme ,2017, Ocean School Literacy Training in Costa Rica, 2018, Humanitarian Affairs Asia 10th University Scholarship Leadership Programme , Round the World Scientific Mission with Exxpedition 2019 and the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs 2021.

I’ve also been awarded been nominated for a national youth award in the category of Entrepreneurship and Youth Activism. Additionally, my work have been featured in several newspapers, radio and morning talk shows.”
