Jean Nacishali has more than 5 years of working/research experience in Environment and Natural resources management with focus on Mineral, Water, Biodiversity & Forest management. He is a consultant in environment and natural resources management in Democratic Republic of the Congo. In addition, he is interested in data analysis, cartography and writing. Jean is a Co-founder at BEGE-RDC (Bureau d’Etude Géologique et Environnementale en RDC), an SDSN-Youth (UN Sustainable Development Solution Network) member organization, gathering young geologist and environmentalist to promote the sustainable management of natural resources and to tackle environmental challenges in DRC. He is also a junior lecture in Geology and he have been appointed as a 2019 Global Schools Advocate in DRC at the Global Schools Program of SDSN Youth. Through the Global Schools Program, he is contributing to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into school settings, increase the capacities of educators and teachers to more effectively deliver education on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide youth with opportunities to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. He hold a master degree in Biodiversity and Sustainable Forest Management (Orientation: Forest and Environment) and a bachelor degree in Geology. He is committed to advocate on remediation of degraded land, educate for sustainable development and implement program related to capacity building on natural resources management and natural risk preparedness in DRC.
