I am James Okinyi Oyungu from Kenya. I graduated in December, 2018 from the University of Nairobi; Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Environmental Studies. I have also done Conflict and Peace Studies and Sociology. I am a dedicated, determined, creative and one who enjoys team work in achieving sets of goals and objectivess of an organisation.
I am a philanthropist, Environmentalist and Social Activist who has dedicated most of his free time in voluntary exercises for the benefits of the communities regardless of cultural differences, religion, region and tribe.
I am currently volunteering with the Youth Governor Kenya (YGK), Homa Bay Chapter. An initiative made up of young, passionate, energetic and visionary youths in the county. I am also a Continental Development Strategist at Great Minds Empire where I serve as a volunteer.
In addition, (September to December, 2018) I volunteered with Misori Dispensary (Rarieda Constituency) where I got the opportunity to lead a team of 22 community health volunteers in creating awareness on environmental health and also, carried community awareness on Gender Based Violence and its impact on the spread of HIV/AIDS, through dialogues.
I have also volunteered with team Environment Kenya and Global Green Solutions in community awareness on environmental conservation and environmental health where I participated in tree planting expeditions and environmental clean ups in different parts of the country such as Nairobi, Transnzoia and Kajiado counties.
I believe that for us to achieve global peace, it has to start with you and I and the environment we are in.
