As a child, I dreamed of working as a porter at the airport. In my village, in the Northern Region of Ghana, I used to watch planes fly overhead and I dreamed of getting to work in a place where I could watch them take off and land. I also dreamed of helping people who were stranded in transit to find their final destination. But today, I am not a porter and I don’t work in an airport, but I am still helping people in transition. My vast experience working with both local and international NGOs focused on helping rural folks in northern Ghana reach their final destinations. Growing up in a rural setting and finally studying and working across diverse towns and villages has exposed me to different cultures and the way they interact. Living in a highly multicultural space certainly had its advantages; being able to connect with people from different backgrounds daily really opens up an appreciation for the colorful world we live in. My passion for nature, music, food, travelling and learning have shaped my past and most certainly are predicting my future. The surroundings around me bring opportunities, my passions shape my view of the world and my decisions continue to write my story that has yet to reach the next curve. Because although the more curved our paths are, the more challenging, but the more valuable experiences we get. As I venture further into my life, these are the values that drive my adventures yet to come.
