Isabella Arca Vieira

Brazil

I’m a 23-year old Latina master student on Human Rights from Brazil. During my years at the Bachelor’s, I participated in several initiatives to develop my academic knowledge on human rights and security, but also to develop my leadership, communication and professional skills by working in two local NGOs, one that helps refugees in Brazil and the other that works to protect human rights defenders in danger, besides other extracurricular activities.

Currently, I’m a master student on Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at Sciences Po Paris, where I’m developing a research project on environmental crimes in the Amazon. I’m also co-president of Pour le Brésil, an association that organizes conferences and debates to discuss a more sustainable future for Brazil, since it is one of the most unequal countries in the world, as well as organizing advocacy campaigns to raise awareness on the issues of inequalities. Finally, I work as an Assistant at Human Rights Watch, the most renowned international NGO, which has been a really enriching experience in getting committed to human rights issues around the world.
