My name is Hoang Hai My and I am currently a student at The University of Danang – University of Economics.
During the summer following my freshman year, I participated in Danang Free Walking Tour as a tour guide to walk international tourists through many iconic attractions of Danang with their own histories and cultures. My city has also been selected for big events to take place such as APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, AIESEC’s oGX program, etc., these are volunteer opportunities I took to gain more skills and experience outside of the school. For instance, AIESEC is an international organization in which I learned how to be a leader and inspire people while serving APEC taught me how to work in a professional environment.
Besides volunteer, I also have part-time jobs, one of which is a waitress at Tamarind Tree restaurant in Danang for one year and four months. The job polished me up on how to communicate with customers effectively and serve F&B accurately and courteously. Being named on Tripadvisor with compliments from my guests is a great motivation for me to do my job better. My service and manner at work were so good that I got a promotion to the post of leader of the serving team after only a few months here.
