Hannah Joy Lico is a senior high school student who is currently studying at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute under health allied strand. She is a consistent honor student and won medals from different national and international competitions. Served as a turning point of her life, Hannah was one of the first batch of students who went for the Asia KAKEHASHI Project – Building Bridge Between Japan and Asia, as an ambassadress of goodwill and peace. To continue her work as a global citizen, Hannah is now an officer of Lasallian Medic Society (under Philippine Red Cross), a member of the Flux Debate Society, and an active student volunteer of AFS Intercultural Programs Philippines, where she assists in giving orientation to international students who come to the Philippines to study Filipino language. She, herself, has an interest in becoming multilingual and currently speaks 4 languages. Hannah is an aspiring medical practitioner who envisions a world where intercultural learning is being promoted through education, particularly in the health sector. She believes that in order to treat a patient holistically, one should not only focus on the physical illness, but must take into account the patient’s cultural background.
