This is Ghalia Turki, 28 years old, from Damascus, Syria.
For the past 5 years, I have been working hard to be an active part of the Syrian youth community. In addition to my 7-year work and 3-year experience in different fields, I have always been keen to give a hand and gain new skills and experiences in working with local and international organizations, startups, and initiatives. It wasn’t easy until I have become a community leader and a social activist by advocating and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals especially Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities, and by being in a direct contact with a lot of young people motivating and helping them in finding the right tools to empower themselves and to pursue their career dreams. Through many blogs, social media posts, and personal communication with these young people, I have been able to inspire them and to make a little spark of impact in their lives. Nothing would make me proud than being able to speak up and give their words a loud voice in front of the international community and to gain new global skills and experiences that would make me able to help them more.
