Morocco

Since an early age, I’ve been engaged in many international and local events that foster peace and promote youth voice on high scale level. In 2015 when I was a graduate student, I got the chance to be selected by the United States Department in Washington D.C. (only four Moroccan students were selected for SUSI program) and represent the Moroccan youth in the USA. No poverty and social equality are the main two key areas I’m extremely passionate about. For this main purpose I’m currently developing a project to foster peace and social justice in my country by helping African immigrants coming to Morocco getting access to their basic rights. The most shocking violation evidence of sub Saharanrian rights occurred in the last ten years when thousands sub-Saharan migrants attempted to storm the fences dividing the Spanish enclaves Ceuta and Melilla from the rest of Morocco. As a results, at least 15 sub-Saharan Africans died and a hundred were injured. No current official statistics on the employment of African illegal migrants, their living standards or access to basic rights of education, healthcare is available. However, in my daily life, I tend to see hundreds of these migrants in a very difficult situation, most of them begging in the streets and having no shelter. Fighting for social justice and equality has always been among my list of endeavors and I want to continue working for this and speak about this in every special event or occasion.
