As a daughter of immigrant parents and a New York City native, Dominica grew up in vibrantly diverse in both culture and thought. Viewing issues and offering perspectives from an equity lens is something that not only came naturally to her but was a necessity to build and nurture the communities that I cared so much about. For the past several years, she has been involved in facilitating safe spaces amongst underrepresented populations. Though the breadth of my work has been mostly with immigrant, multi generational, and refugee communities through my nonprofit experience, she has also been a part of supporting the facilitation of “Live with Awareness, Courage and Love” meetups that seek to create diverse communities for interpersonal connection using openhearted scientifically researched methods. She is involved in combating the human trafficking issues within the Seattle area by leveraging partnerships within the private and public sector with the organization Stolen Youth. In addition, Dominica is heavily involved in the activist and political space in Seattle, advocating for the rights of immigrants and refugees through local organizations and working with City and State officials to address our large homelessness issue. She demonstrates leadership through her involvement in the city, state and national issues and commitment through seeking solutions, either through market-based approaches or community activism. Dominica’s navigation through her career has been primarily driven by her unquenchable desire for a purposeful life that seeks to be part of supporting those in marginalized communities to create solutions to a more abundance and thriving life.
