“My name is Danah Baqer Al-Oraibi. I grew up in Baghdad, Iraq, where I am currently studying interior design at Uruk.
Interior design became a field of interest because of my admiration for the arts, which developed from a young age.
Despite the limitations present, particularly regarding where I live, I have maintained active since my first day at the university. The small and consistent everyday actions reflect my ambitious character, especially when it comes to things I am passionate about and like. At university, I managed to organize a gallery with some of my colleagues, which displayed many of our designs.
This experience motivated me further to branch out and explore different opportunities. From there, I began taking part in workshops and online courses that helped me expand my knowledge and skills.
All of this hard work ethic and dedication to continuously improve did not go unnoticed by my seniors – I am now one of the trainees at Mk Lab for designs.
Apart from interior design, another passion is to be part of a better community and volunteer. For many years, I volunteered at the IQ-peace canter in Baghdad that aimed to support the potential of the youth through helping improve their skills and expertise, aiming for a better and more united community.
Eventually, I became a member of the organization committee and the design team leader. I had the honor of being chosen to represent the IQ-peace center in several local and international conferences and events. My experience with IQ-peace was life-changing, mainly because of the positive dynamic that everyone had when encouraging each other to do the best we can, even during the worst of times, to bring happiness and spread positivity within the community despite everything.”
