I started my associative life at 14 and at 20 I had the opportunity to study in Portugal. While studying, in 2016, I was a volunteer at Amnesty International Portugal. After finishing my degree, I realized that I knew little about the African continent so I decided to do my Master in African Studies. I have developed my dissertation about the “Homeland security in Sao Tome and Principe: The challenges of the 21st century” . After finishing my studies I returned to my country where I work as a supervisor of the Civic training course at the Ministry of Education. In parallel, I develop civic work in defense of the rights of children, young people, women and the elderly. I am currently founding member and president of the Association of Women of Sao Tome and Principe (Mama Catxina). I was distinguished in 2019 as one of the 5 young leaders by the Ministry of Youth and in November 2021 I was in the top 15 of young African ambassadors for peace. Even after being employed, I still believe in the power of training to present better solutions to the challenges that are posed to society, so in December I participated in the training of trainers in conflict mediation in communities developed by UNDP.
