I have work experiences with both public sector and government’s development dialogue partner. Often times, during meetings at my previous workplace I was a legal assistant and I was always caught in between officials and donor sides. Differences in cultures and working attitudes indeed made it no easy for cooperation among partners. Should both parties fail to find compromising point to get everyone agrees to the proposed idea, there would have been not fruition coming out of the discussion; thence, it equals as meaningless. Therefore, roughly speaking, I am well-aware of how both sides making decision and operating their respective institutions. It was during that time that I acquired my negotiation and mediation skills. And, during my enrolment in Waseda university, there were several occasions where I got chance to participated in global seminars, workshops and conferences along with other international students to discuss and share ideas as teamwork. I used to be in both team leader position and as team member. As a leader, I realized that it is essential to generate comfortable and relaxing environment for all members in team to freely share and discuss their ideas among one another and ensure that all ideas raised are being appreciated while as a teammate, I have learned to adapt quickly to unfamiliar environment and be open to new ideas.
