I have vast experience in youth leadership development, having worked for years as a leadership consultant and a trainer in various leadership organizations. I help the youth to develop their skills and become productive members of the society. I help them to be opened to new ideas and this has made them ideal population to lead projects and programs that encourage civil engagement. I created and implemented a sensitization and awareness activities among them on the dangers of drug and substance abuse as well as the impact of sexual and gender-based violence and ways to curb such menace and contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation. My passion in tackling Drug abuse and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) among women, with three years’ experience in project planning and management, began when my younger sibling was sexually molested by my uncle, under the influence of drug and substance abuse. I led a research team to Benue State Nigeria on SGBV given the prevalence of violence against women in the state to design, implement, and manage the project on drug and substance demand reduction among the young people. I raised two hundred volunteers as foot soldiers in the rural communities in ten states, with a project-based work plans and schedules developed alongside clear program concept notes, structure, objectives and activities targeted at the endemic areas where the issue of drug and substance abuse is prevalent. I designed a risk assessment matrix, facilitating an efficient resource allocation and budget planning process and in addition, contributing to a program strategy. I led a team of twelve persons in conducting a state wide qualitative and quantitative research on SGBV that led to pregnancy and the pregnancy intentions of the survivors. My aspiration is to build 10 temporal shelters for rehabilitation of the survivors.
