Chelvin Ramsamy holds a First-Class Bachelor of Laws (LLB, Hons), a Master of Laws (LLM, International Business Law), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Certificate of Ethics and Professional Practice. He is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PG Cert HE), a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PG Dip HRM), the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and the New Zealand Law and Practice Exams (NZLPE) while being a mentee of the Young ICCA Programme.

Chelvin has won four different postgraduate scholarships and the Most Outstanding LLB (Hons) Student Award. He is serving as the first-ever African Youth Charter Hustler for Mauritius. In fact, he already works as a Special Assistant Advisor on Regional Integration to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, after his spells at the FSC, KPMG, DBM, PSC and Southern African Trust. Chelvin’s first book on contemporary African issues was launched last year by the President of the Republic of Mauritius. He has a passion for serving society and it was through his efforts that his village of L’Escalier was nominated as the first-ever International City of Peace in Mauritius in June 2020.

A Global Peace Ambassador, Chelvin is a graduate of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI RLC SA), the Public Management and Governance Track, and holds the position of Networking and Events Coordinator for the YALI Mauritius Chapter. He further serves as the Southern African and Interim Northern African Regional Associates for the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA). He is also an Alumnus of the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps Programme (AUYVC). Chelvin is the co-founder of Let’s Glow Organisation, tackling social issues and unleashing the potential of young people to bring about change.
