Boitumelo is a confident and articulate aspiring diplomat with a zest for world peace and equality. I was born and raised in Botswana and i am enthusiastic to contribute to the development of my country. I proudly graduated first class honours Degree from University of Botswana and was honoured to partake in a student exchange program at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America. As a pursuit of my interests in humanitarian and diplomatic issues i also studied International Humanitarian Law at Leiden University in the Hague, Netherlands.
Boitumelo was born a leader, a go getter, always challenging the status quo hence being brave enough to be one of the first women to join the military as an Officer Cadet because she never believed that nothing can be impossible for her, defying cultural norms and perceptions about women. Captain Boitumelo Lehutso as she is formally addressed strives to be a mentor and a beacon of hope to all young girls aspiring to be leaders in heir own right. Bsides her civic duty Boitumelo has been actively involved in numerous events and organizations that advocate for world peace and support the UN Sustainable Goals. She been a delegate at the UNESCO Youth Forum advocating for inclusion of young people especially the girl child in Leadership positions. She is also a member of the Global Diplomatic Forum and alumni of the Young Diplomats Forum being the only Motswana to ever represent the country on such event.
I take pride in engaging in civil community building based on a personal and professional experience, through charity work and also advocacy and motivating young people therefore promoting significant positive change in communities and individuals through advocacy, empowerment and being a voice for peace, equal opportunities and humanity.
