I was born in a rural area of Ethiopia where my parents met. Due to difficult circumstances, they decided to move to Addis Ababa and that’s where my life adventure begins. I finished my primary and secondary school at Kidane Mehret and I graduated with a great distinction. When I was in secondary school my father introduced me to computers and I was obsessed. I started coding when I was in grade 10 and so when the time came for me to pick a field it was an easy choice. I enrolled in the software engineering program at Addis Ababa Institute of Technology. After 5 challenging years, I graduated with a very great distinction at top of the class. After leaving university I started working on Upwork, a platform for freelancers and I was lucky enough to work with different startup tech companies including Outlier, Spikeet, and Cekaso. Currently, I’m working as a senior developer and team lead at Spikeet.
