Betselot is a youth climate and policy advocate from Ethiopia with experience in multilateral affairs and sustainable development. She has worked with the European Union Delegation for Africa, supporting EU missions and co-organizing the European Film Festival (2023–2024). Her innovation project on youth climate adaptation earned recognition from the Ministry of Planning and Development and UNICEF Ethiopia in 2024. At the Institute of Foreign Affairs, she contributes to ecosystem restoration, climate-smart agriculture, and aligning Ethiopia’s strategies with the SDGs and Paris Agreement. Betselot represented Ethiopian youth at the AU Youth Conference, UNOC 2025, and UN Food Systems +4 Stocktake, amplifying youth voices on climate and food systems. She is the Essay Competition Winner for her work on the AU’s Legal Argument at the ICJ and Video Communication Winner for Forest Sustainability.
