Beauty Razack, 15 years of age, a daughter of the soils of St. Cuthbert’s Mission, Pakuri, an Indigenous community located out of the capital city of Georgetown. She is currently Pursuing her secondary education at Richard Ishmael Secondary School, where she is performing exceedingly well. Her future aspirations are many but among those are: 1. In the near future to attend the Harvard University and also to one day become the President of this beautiful, rich-cultured and diverse nation; Guyana.
This individual possesses great interests in social affairs that are prevalent within our societies. As such spends most of her free time both attending and hosting workshops and campaigns as aid to using her voice as an advocate as it relates to issues affecting our youth. She is the Deputy of the Youth Violence committee, member of the Environmental and health club also a senior member of her schools prestigious Prefect body. Just a few months ago she became a peer counselor of Gender based violence as such she is in the process of forming her own Non Governmental organization aimed in promoting positivity by fostering youth development and creating Gender violence Awareness.
It is her firm believe in the old addage that says “prevention is better that cure” so her efforts would be geared in empowering adolescence by using the A- point methodology as tools to strengthen their cognitive ability to be resilient in the face of life’s adversities especially as it relates to Gender Based Violence.
She would have also participated in the Girls+ Technology essay competition which resulted in her copping second place for the entire Country.
Beauty is apart of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) club whereby this results in boosting the youth capabilities and helps in molding the nations future leaders equipping them with the skills for the working environment, thus aggressively promoting the concept with the express goal of graduating students competent in a variety of STEM subjects.
As mentioned above, Over the years she would have been engaged in many youth specific programs and campaigns but among those are her favorites, these are the Body Boss campaign organized by the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association, Guyana’s Youths of Tomorrow symposium organized by C.E.E Noel and Peace Corps Girls empowerment camp, camp glow; girls leading our world. These experiences have greatly refueled her passion for positively impacting the lives of the younger Guyanese generations.
Beauty greatly believes that this program would be a platform to tremendously enhance her knowledge on the cultures of the outer world and to equip her with the relevant tools to create a ripple effect on the lives of many Guyanese youth as it relates to curbing and creating awareness to the social issues of our society.
In closing she said “ I am more so looking forward to this opportunity so as to evolve in terms of my leadership capacity and to be the change it want to see; one of my favorite quotes ,she said is “You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone, change begins at the end of that” – Roy T. Bennett. She believes that the youths should arise and act, we have the strength and dynamism to generate a huge transformation in creating a positive impact in society”.
