Born and raised in Pamplona, Spain, Beatriz recently graduated from New York University (NYU), where she completed a master’s degree in International Relations with a Fulbright scholarship. She currently combines her work as freelance reporter with a research assistantship at NYU, where she looks at the role of women and youth in transitional justice processes.
Until recently, Beatriz was part of the International Coordination Team of the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), a coalition of women’s groups and other civil society organizations (CSOs) working on amplifying women’s voices for a more inclusive peace. As a journalist, she has written stories on migration, human rights, gender equality and free press violations around the world. She has always been very passionate about global affairs and has worked with a number of news outlets and firms in Spain, Belgium and the United States in research, consultancy and journalism.
A current Ambassador for the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), Beatriz speaks Spanish, English and French fluently, and she can also read German. She wants to continue her career in Europe, where she aims to advocate for gender equality and promote women’s political leadership in conflict-affected regions.
