My name is Bazila Aijaz, founder of “voices.inside.unknown”, a project aimed at creating awareness on Sexual Harassment in Srinagar City. My initiative provides free preventive workshops on Sexual Harassment, counselling to the victims, creating a data base on prevalence of Sexual Harassment cases. Being a responsible graduating student of social science with Economics and Political Science as my core subjects, who is conscious of evils that prevail in our community and global world have always loved working on Community Development and women issues and I have seen many issues in my community that need to be addressed. During my first semester of college, I started volunteering at Kashmir Education Initiative, which is a USA based Non Profit that supports the education of underprivileged children in Kashmir. Later in year 2017, I was selected for Miracle Corners of World Global for Young Leaders Access Program, after which I started working on Sexual Harassment and domestic violence. Volunteering has given me the chance to not only work with young children and females but also to learn about Non Profit organizations, which has given me hands on experience of organizational operations and helped to shape my career goals of working within International Non Profits. I am passionate about women issues like Gender Inequality, Sexual Harassment, and Domestic Violence. In the valley of Kashmir there are a few stories on Women Empowerment and bravery. Being a global peace ambassador is a huge responsibility, an exciting opportunity that empowers students like me to build on their global experience, help my fellow students develop skills and confidence while experimenting a different environment.
