Hi there! I’m Mr. Basiru Jallow, and I have the privilege of serving as the Director of Green Glow Gambia, a vibrant youth-led organization focused on protecting our environment, taking climate action, and fostering sustainable community development right here in The Gambia.

I’m deeply involved at the grassroots level, spearheading initiatives like tree planting, environmental clean-ups, climate awareness campaigns, and programs that engage young people in promoting responsibility and peaceful coexistence.

What drives my work is the belief that if we ignore environmental degradation, climate stress, and social exclusion, we risk igniting conflict. Through Green Glow Gambia, I work alongside young people, women, and local communities to build resilience, encourage civic participation, and nurture a culture of peace through sustainability and education.

I’m dedicated to practical leadership, making a measurable impact, and transforming communities for the long haul.
