Hi, my name is Azhdar Allahverdiyev and currently I am studying at Ankara University law faculty as a second year student. As an aspiring lawyer, I am particularly interested in international laws and customs. As an active member of university community, I have been a fervent member MUN club of my university for more than a year now. In our MUN club we routinely assemble once or twice a week to simulate UN and its bodies with different and interesting agendas. I even participated in couple of local and national MUN competitions , in which I was selected as a n outstanding delegate. It is very challenging and informative to pick one country, learn new information about it, and represent it with eagerness in UN stage. In addition to that, I am also member of Moot Court of my university where we devise and simulate in various international courts such as ICC, Nuremberg trials, ICJ and etc. Besides these, I am also an active member of ELSA, which gathers legal students all across Europe. Honestly, in my time at ELSA, I am learning new facts and legislations about the various fields of legal studies. By actively engaging in with this ever-growing community, I also got a chance to improve my public speaking and learn valuable experience which can be implemented in practical work life. Furthermore, one of the most interesting organizations that I take part in is EYP( European Youth Parliament). In EYP we simulate the European Parlimanent and try to pass resolutions and legislations in the parliament. As a frivolous participant, I am really into discussing hot topics that concern European system. At here, during my participation in events I mainly mastered oratory which is the key to promote your agenda and pass it on the parliament. I have also been avid fan and participant of various debate types and events. Although Lincoln-Douglas style debate is gaining steam and being utilized a lot, my favorite style is BP where you can simulate centuries old British parliament in real life and learn subtle details how it works.
Finally, few years ago with my group mates from the high school, me and my squad won national championship of Brain ring which is intellectual competition game popular in post-Soviet space. I really hope that my valuable experience and achievements will help me to become a skillful Global Peace ambassador.
