I am a very determined young educator who always seeks to broaden his knowledge, to acquire different skills, and to double his abilities towards achieving positive results and contributing to others’ successes. In 2013, I got a chance to participate in the founding of YEMEN READS. It started as a dream to change our reality and was formed, in the beginning, as a youth initiative whose first founding meetings were held in Germany in March 2013 by a group of Yemeni students who were pursuing their higher studies abroad. The first project of our initiative started in the mid of 2013 in the form of the mobile library project to support and reinforce the culture of reading in the Yemeni society. Since then, educational projects have been set up in places in Yemen to empower youth towards more involvement in community life, true inclusion within their society, and fulfillment of civic and social responsibilities through advancing the role of education. Personally, YEMEN READS has strengthened my belief and my commitments towards serving my community and also developed my awareness and understanding of communities’ needs in Yemen.
