I was born and raised in Moyale, a volatile border town between Kenya and Ethiopia where conflict over water, pasture, and cattle was common. As a child, I was taught that going to war made one a hero, until I was five years old when my father was shot while grazing livestock. He was our breadwinner, and his death changed our lives completely. Poverty followed, my mother lived with a disability and could not provide, and my family endured immense hardship, including the loss of close relatives due to hunger, stress, and lack of healthcare. My elder sister and I survived through resilience and education, supported by scholarships earned through strong academic performance, which enabled me to complete my first degree in December 2025. Having witnessed the true cost of violence, I devoted myself to promoting peace by organizing games and youth programs that fostered unity and coexistence. My journey has shaped my belief that peace begins with empathy, opportunity, and shared humanity.
