My Academic and Professional Background and Achievements
My name is Abdullahi Adebisi, and I am a dedicated peace builder, humanitarian, and advocate for sustainable development from the local community of Inisa in southwestern Nigeria. My journey in promoting peace, environmental sustainability, and social welfare spans a robust academic and professional background in conflict resolution, environmental management, and community development.
Academic and Professional Background:
I hold a degree in Chemistry with a major in Environmental Management and Sustainability, providing a strong foundation for my work in promoting sustainable development and environmental stewardship. My academic pursuits continue as I am currently a postgraduate student in Peace and Conflict Resolution, deepening my understanding of conflict complexities and developing innovative solutions to promote peace.
Founding Initiatives and Leadership Roles:
In 2018, I founded the Unique Salateey Humanitarian Assistance Foundation. This organization is dedicated to providing support and relief to underserved communities through programs addressing critical issues such as poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and disaster relief. By combining grassroots initiatives and strategic partnerships, we have significantly improved the quality of life for many individuals and families. Through our mentorship scholarship hub and preparatory coaching for pre-university students, we have facilitated admission and course advisory services and overseas scholarship opportunities. Our efforts have expanded young scholars’ opportunities, with active members across Nigerian higher institutions and overseas, impacting over 50,000 individuals through awareness campaigns and advocacy.
Additionally, I founded the Morcaz Unique Academy, designed to train future peace builders. Our comprehensive curriculum integrates religious teachings with modern conflict resolution techniques, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to mediate conflicts and foster a culture of peace. By focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of peacebuilding, we prepare graduates to tackle real-world challenges effectively.
Recognizing the importance of sustainability in community development, I also established Salateey Sustainable Initiatives. This organization promotes environmental stewardship and sustainable practices within local communities through various projects and educational programs. Our goal is to encourage individuals and organizations to adopt environmentally friendly practices, contributing to sustainable development.
As the Program Manager for the Red Dot Foundation’s SafeCity-USHAF project in southwestern Nigeria, I have worked tirelessly to create safer urban environments. The project addresses urban safety and gender-based violence through community engagement, data collection, and advocacy. Under my leadership, the project has successfully mobilized communities, raised awareness, and implemented strategies to enhance safety and security for vulnerable populations.
Mentorship and Teaching Experience:
During my National Youth Service Corps at the Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic in Sokoto, I served as a lecturer, mentoring close to 3,000 students. I also served as the Special Adviser and Mentor for the Federation of Oodua Student Union of the Yoruba race in northern Nigeria, leading over 100 students in their final year projects, laboratory practicals, and theses.
Advocacy and Professional Affiliations:
As a fellow and youth advocate volunteer at the Global Fund Advocate Network, I play a crucial role in promoting health and development initiatives. My advocacy efforts focus on mobilizing resources and support for programs addressing critical health issues, particularly in marginalized communities. Through my involvement, I have contributed to the global fight against diseases and health disparities.
I am also an active member of Junior Chamber International (JCI), where I have participated in various community development projects and leadership training programs. Additionally, I am an associate member of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management and the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), reflecting my commitment to professional development and upholding high standards in peacebuilding and environmental management.
Impact and Vision:
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a deep commitment to promoting peace, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. My diverse roles and achievements reflect my unwavering dedication to creating a better world, one community at a time. Through visionary leadership and tireless efforts, I continue to inspire and empower others to join the movement for peace and sustainability.
Overall, my journey is defined by a passion for making significant contributions to peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development. I remain committed to furthering these causes and driving positive change within my community and beyond.
