I am Abdalfatah, from Palestine. I finished my bachelor of Shariah & Law with excellence in 2017 from Islamic University of Gaza. In 2020 I have got a Master degree in Comparative Laws (International Humanitarian Law & International Criminal Law) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). My Master thesis was on “The protection of children during armed conflicts under International Law”. After that, I have joined the PhD Program of Public International Law at The National University of Malaysia (UKM) as a PhD Candidate. Therefore, I am currently working on my PhD Thesis titled “International Law and the current challenges of terrorism and counter-terrorism: ISIS as a case study”. In my thesis, I am highlighting the weaknesses and deficiencies of the relevant international instruments in dealing with international terrorism and suggest solutions to fill this gap.
In addition, in January 2020, I joined the international conference (Palestine and the justice of the International Criminal Court in light of the rules of prosecution and fairness) with an academic paper titled ” International Criminal Court and the Israeli violations committed during the three Gaza wars 2008, 2012 and 2014″. And for now, I am working on publishing an article on the protection of children during armed conflicts in international humanitarian law. And I will keep using my research interests to highlight the global peace issues.
