The Global Peace Summit Turkey 2020, which took place from October 15th to 18th, 2020, revolved around the theme, “Reshaping Youth Response to Achieve UNSDGs.” It provided an important global platform for 148+ young individuals to engage in discussions on the challenges under the UNSDGs. The event was designed to empower youth, giving them the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to global conversations, particularly in the context of the ongoing socioeconomic upheaval caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, through informative sessions, the delegates explored the significant role youth play in addressing global issues such as violent extremism and Islamophobia, while also examining the importance of youth engagement in political processes and decision-making. Overall, the summit empowered the delegates to voice their opinions on issues that mattered to them.
