Summary of key discussion points or outcomes
Upon returning to New Zealand —where I am currently pursuing my master’s degree under the Manaaki Scholarship from the New Zealand Government— I felt the responsibility to turn learning into action. This led to the creation of “Generación 2100: Student-Led Climate Advocacy Forum”, an event organized in collaboration with my peers from the Manaaki Sustainability group and supported by the Sustainability Office at Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
The forum brought together over 80 students from diverse disciplines to reflect and take action on current and future environmental challenges. I delivered a keynote speech focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, linking insights gained at the Global Peace Summit in Sydney to the local context. Guest speakers shared real-life social impact initiatives, and interactive activities encouraged networking, environmental awareness, and collaboration among committed young people.
• Conclusion and impact of the activity
Generación 2100 was not just another student event —it was the direct outcome of an international knowledge exchange process and a testament to how a scholarship experience can be transformed into a platform for social change. The initiative fostered interdisciplinary dialogue, empowered youth to engage in sustainability-driven action, and strengthened networks for future collaborative projects addressing environmental challenges.
