I am Ramajini Gnanasuthan, a Sri Lankan undergraduate now enrolled in the University of Moratuwa’s B.Sc. (Hons.) in the Artificial Intelligence program. My mother is a homemaker and my father works as a driver. I was raised in a lower-middle-class family. I have won several awards since I was in school, including All-Around Student of the Year, Debater of the Year, and Best Math Student of the Year. In my final academic year at school, I served as president of the Student Union. In the year 2020, I received an award for a poem from the Honorable Prime Minister. I joined CIMA and studied the first stage after finishing my education.
I became a member of the non-profit volunteer organization Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School while I was a CIMA student. I then became the director of Club Service Avenue of the club and did many social services. I once served as the project chair for a project called Blind Walk in 2022, a fundraiser for persons who are visually impaired. I spent six months working as an intern at Yarl IT Hub, another nonprofit organization. As a part of it, I worked in “Puthiya Payanangal” a series of 3 books sent to rural students in the northern province, which tested their practical application abilities and I was a facilitator for Arduino workshops. I was part of an app released by Yarl IT Hub for the deaf and dumb students at Nuffield School for deaf and dumb. I am the IEEE WIE of UOM’s Marketing Team Lead at my university.
As my profile itself says, I am a person who is interested in developing society and I found myself growing rapidly in each phase. I was able to do all these contributions while I was focusing on my education and today I am an undergraduate in the most challenging degree, Artificial Intelligence.
