My name is Hiba Noor and I am a 16-year-old student, currently enrolled in A-Levels at Pak-Turk Maarif Asifa Irfan Girls Campus, Lahore. I recently managed to get 7A*s and 2As in my O-Levels. Although I try to perform above grade in my academics, I have learned how to educate myself in more aspects than in only the prescribed curriculum. I was always keen towards looking for internships outside of school in order to enhance my exposure through experiencing and dealing with different challenges that came my way. As an aspiring writer, I started working in a digital magazine (Perspective Magazine) as a writer, and then after a few months, became the editor-in-chief of said magazine. This experience motivated me to look for similar opportunities and so, I participated in several national and international essay competitions. I eventually won a Bronze Medal in the A2Z National Essay Competition 2019, and a Gold Award in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2021. Along with this, I engaged in various volunteer projects as a means to contribute my part to the community. One of the most fulfilling experiences I had was at The Citizens’ Foundation where I volunteered in the Baghban Program. The promotion of literacy in Pakistan has, and will always be, one of my top priorities; which is why working with TCF, visiting their schools, meeting with their team, and witnessing their efforts myself, felt immensely wholesome. I also interned at the Peach Academy as a sales intern to encourage online education in Pakistan during the first wave of coronavirus. Furthermore, I participated in the Pink Ribbon Campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness in Pakistan in order to create a higher health apprehension. Along with this, I led a meat distribution campaign in my school, as well as partnered with Rizq Foundation to raise funds to create a hunger-free Pakistan.
