“Natalia Luers is a recent graduate in International Relations and Political Science from Argentina who, during her bachelor’s studies, engaged actively in the Córdoba community as a volunteer at Youth Argentinean Organization for United Nations (OAJNU). There, she helped to develop educational projects whose aim is youth empowerment, envisioning a democratic, inclusive and rights promoter society. During the first four years, she assisted in the workshops and United Nations models as a facilitator and a trainer, where more than 1200 participants among 14-17 years old debated about local, national and international problems. In her 5th year there, as the head of the Professor´s area she handled institutional relations with local professors where she organized 10 workshops for 30 educators, in order to train them in the issues their students were debating about.
Following her desire to promote human rights among the new generations, she started volunteering at the World Youth Alliance by advocating for human dignity as a Trainer through the instruction of traineeships for the almost 200 incoming members. During 2020, she also volunteered in a youth-led community-based project called “Apoyo Escolar Barrio 31”, where she was tutor of two children from a marginalized neighborhood at Buenos Aires delivering them online teaching support to minimize school dropout during the pandemic.
Recently, to fight against the prejudices that terrorism is originated in the Middle East and the racism and discrimination generated to those communities, she got involved in the University Observatory of Terrorism as a Data Analyst. Besides, to interconnect the academy and the third sector, she took up a role at London Institute of Peace Research (LIPR) as an Ambassador of Peace where she is in charge of connecting with globally like-minded organizations to potentiate bilateral collaboration, aiming to promote social cohesion and reconciliation among peoples, groups and nations.”
