HANIN AFA ALREFAEY

Japan

Someone who is fond of languages, this is the way I like to introduce myself. My name is Hanin Alrefaey, I lived in at least four different countries, and currently living in Japan since 2018. I am studying at Sophia University at the Faculty of Liberal Arts managing to major in comparative culture. Difficulties and overcoming them, quick adaptation to new environments and situations, continuous desire to learn, discover the world, and communicate with it through language and culture, and perseverance are things that define me. Moving alone from one country to another, starting eagerly and patiently from scratch multiple times, volunteering with many organizations in different countries (Jordan, Turkey) to help refugees, and also volunteered with some other organizations in arranging, coordinating, and managing many events and courses, also in Japan, volunteered with a number of schools to introduce Arabic language and Arabic culture to Japanese children in schools, participating in the process of widening their horizons and perspectives about the world. I worked in multiple jobs that require different skills, and with different nationalities, worked as a teacher of English for Turks, Arabic for Britain, and Arabic and English for Japanese, worked in factories for the manufacture of plastics, food, sweets, in restaurants, in a translation office, and in a public library, and from all these experiences I learned a lot, however, the most important thing I have learned is that failure and success have one thing in common, that they are a station in a person’s life and not a destination or the end.
