Jordan

Tala Odeh is an innovative young PharmD student at the University of Jordan, who truly believes in working together to change realities and build a more peaceful world. When she started her undergraduate studies, her passion for voluntary work has blossomed. It started when she organized her first voluntary event, it was all about bringing happiness to orphan children’s hearts. She noticed the excitement in their eyes and realized that volunteering is not about filling your extra time or just having a new experience, it is about changing someone’s life even with a little happy hour. She decided to bridge her after graduation journey, dreams, and efforts with volunteering. Having a glimpse of volunteering in whatever she undertakes is a must.

She was the head of the organizing committee of the “Medical Week Around Jordan” initiative in the student voluntary team she started in 2018 in the Faculty of Pharmacy, which was all about utilizing their experience as healthcare students to reach people who live in areas with poor healthcare systems due to the poor living situation. In this initiative, they gather students and professions from different healthcare sectors and offer people all medical checkups and treatments when required. Their goal is believing in the right to receive medical care equally and engaging healthcare students with volunteering so they can believe in having the spirit to feel the others. In 2020, She was chosen to represent Jordan in World Literacy Foundation Ambassador Program, such an experience inspired her to be more involved in literacy in Jordan.

She persistently seeks to be a young entrepreneur leader, and for that, she challenged herself and applied for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Young Leaders program. She was selected among 140 participants from all regions to receive training workshops in communication skills, economics, political participation, advocacy, and social democracy. For her exceptional social attitude, creative mindset, and commitment, She was further selected among 60 participants to continue in the Advanced Leader program where she took workshops that helped her develop skills as a young leader. She will habitually remain a vigorous student with a dream to spread peace.
