I have been an individual who has been actively involved in many segments of the society, starting from simple initiatives such as Teaching English for free to complex projects such as Uthum Minisun and Toys for Smiles, two of the leading social projects in Sri Lanka I have been engaging with young children and elders to create a sustainable difference for the society.

Toys for Smiles is a recent project that was started by myself, which comprises of providing toys and children books to low income families, the project is based on collecting toys and books from stable and middle/high income families as donations after which the collected items would be provided to families in rural areas, many children are able to cherish their childhood due to this initiative.

Toys for Smiles was an idea that the I got when looking at his childhood, I am from a middle class working family, who often had financial burdens due to which toys were more or less of a luxury, as a self giving person I wanted to provide children in rural areas with the ability to play than to suffer the burden of not being able to obtain toys.

I was able to identify the lack of medicine for under privileged families in Sri Lanka, with the outbreak of the pandemic many people lost their jobs as the nominee comes from a middle class society, I had been always compassionate towards elders, due to which I was a founding individual of this initiative, before the outbreak, I had been working close with the Sri Lankan Ministry of health to create awareness for cancer.
