I am Stefany Paola Chacón Bargas, a senior Foreign Languages student at the
National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). I am passionate about languages
and cultures and consider them as the most precious treasure humanity has. Additionally, I
work as an interpreter/brigade assistant in an organization named Global Brigades whose
mission is to empower developing communities in Honduras by providing the population
with healthcare services, public health projects, clean water systems, legal, and human
rights assistance. Personally, getting involved in this organization has awakened my
passion to help others and my vision that a small action can change people’s lives leading
them to a sustainable and prosperous future. Moreover, I have participated as a volunteer/
language teacher at the International Youth Fellowship World Camp 2020: Honduras, this
camp has the mission to promote the integral, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth of
Honduran youth through different activities including academics recreational ones. I
consider these experiences as a fundamental part of myself since they have taught me the
importance of working hard, as well as always doing my best to improve other lives and that
the best reward is not wealth or some other material stuff but the beautiful and fulfilling
feeling that such small actions cause inside of you.
